Event Overview

The National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo programme consist of Host City Walk, Tourism Transport Summit, Exhibition-B2B and G2B sessions, Tourism Transport Ambassadors Award and Gala Night and will be rounded up with the Host City Tour.

This is to provide physical fitness for organizers and collaborators in the organization of the Summit and Expo as well as create public awareness of the up- coming event.

The Tourism Transportation Summit will deliberate on the complex issues relating to the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) with the view to overcoming the hurdles and challenges inherent in its implementation. It will make implementers of the agreement protocols including enforcement agencies, national, states and local governments and the organized private sector to reappraise and have a better understanding of the workings of the AfCFTA implementable protocols in view of the importance of the AfCFTA regime to the economic prosperity of the African Continent and its people. All implementers will have the platform and opportunity to interface and chart an amiable path of synergy in all their operations

The Expo’s primary objective is to create a platform among all major stakeholders at both national and international levels as well as public and private sectors to interact in a serene atmosphere with customers and investors leading to a healthy understanding of the of the AfCFTA regime and operational ease of cooperation between the implementers. It is to further provide the platform for operators in the aviation, road, railways, maritime, finance and banking, insurance firms,oil and gas as wellas those within the hospitality and tourism value chain to showcase their products and services to consumers, business, organizations, members of the public and to the regulatory agencies.

The Tourism Transportation Ambassadors Award is instituted to recognize and foster excellence in the tourism transportations sectors. The award allows the industry to recognize those individuals, organizations and events that have gone over and above board to offer superior tourism transport experiences. The award is meant to encourage the individuals and organizations to keep providing the diverse range of high-quality tourism transport services so that tourists keep coming back year after.year.

Drawing from the successes of the National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo since inception, With the first held in 2018 to the fifth edition of the Summit in 2022, it has led to the evolution of five very powerful documents and materials of vital reference point for both the Tourism and Transportation sectors in the form of Communiqués. For the purpose of proper record keeping, these documents have been compiled into a book titled ‘Compendium of Communiques of National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo: 2018- 2022’ and shall be launched in the course of executing programs and activities lined up for the 2025 edition of the Summit and Expo.

The Expo’s primary objective is to create a platform among all major stakeholders at both national and international levels as well as public and private sectors to interact in a serene atmosphere with customers and investors leading to a healthy understanding of the connectivity and operational ease of cooperation between the two industries. It is to further provide the platform for operators in the aviation, road, railways, maritime, and those within the hospitality and tourism value chain to showcase their products and services to consumers, business membership organizations and to the regulatory agencies.

The Host City Tour provides delegates, participants, guests and visitors to the Summit & Expo the rare opportunity to visit and tour some landmark areas and places of tourism attractions in and round the city of the Federal Capital Territory.
